Aquarium of the Pacific

So, I don't think anyone would disagree with me when I say, yesterday was one of my favorite days, thus far, as a parent!!! We ( Me, Marisa, Allison, Tiffany & Megan and our offspring) spent the day exploring all there was to see at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.
This is Jennifer, she is the cutest little greek girl I have ever laid eyes on!! She belongs to Allison's boyfriend and fits right in with our crowd!!! Plus, she adores 'the baby' and Kaelen just want to hug and kiss her right back!
Introducing Michael, Alli's BF. He's great and I'm glad we got to spend the day with him! What a big help with all the little ones running around!

In utter amazement of all the fish and the sharks and the sea lions and the jelly fish. Murdoch will blow your mind with what he knows!! Incredible!

Auntie Bash feeding (getting attacked by) the birdies. Kaelen had a death grip on my arm but couldn't get enough of them!

I swear, this day was perfect!

Kaelen was not afraid of anything. She stuck her hands right in...until they came to the surface of course, then she was crawling up the first Aunt she could find!

All of our kiddos checking out the Sea Puppies...which Murdoch was so quick to correct them on. It's a Sean Lion girls, duh!

Hers so so big!!!

Bash, look!

Checking out the sharks and the sting reys...

You do it first Mommy!

Totally loving it!

Kaelen's Tia and Eliana!

Then End! Yesterday was beyond awesome. I would have loved to be inside any one of our kids heads!!! They loved every minute of the Aquarium...and totally wore all of us out!

Growing Family!!

So, if you haven’t heard…we’re expecting!!!

Shocked?!?!?!? We were!

Obviously we know how it happens but didn’t really think it would happen sooooo soon! I guess we aren’t too far off schedule; we were planning on getting pregnant in January because I really wanted on October baby and I wanted Kaelen to be 2 ½ years older then her little sister or brother but apparently the Baby Jesus had other plans for us! We found out on 9-9-09 which must be lucky, right??? Well, either way we’re completely excited and can’t wait to go through this process again!

If my calculations are correct, I am 6 weeks, making my due date May 18th….yeah, I know, another May baby! We have impeccable timing I tell you!

Of course, Daddy, keeps referring to the little nugget as a boy and wants to know right away what we’re having. I can’t say one way or the other what kind of baby I want other then healthy!!! It was so much easier to hope for a boy or girl the first time because it only affected Kyle and I and now all I can think about is Kaelen and how awesome it would be to have a sister for her to be super close with or a little brother for her to protect and teach to be a good man. Either way I am thrilled that Kaelen gets a sibling and Kyle and I get to have a new baby!!!

I am so looking forward to growing another baby!! I loved being pregnant with Kaelen and can’t wait to do it all over again! I can’t wait to feel the hiccups or be kicked, I can’t wait to hear the heart beat and find out what we’re having, I can’t wait till be belly starts to show and Kaelen starts to realize there’s a baby inside! I am hoping for an easy pregnancy, again, but of course it’s not so much in my hands…short of the crappy morning sickness I got the first time it was a cake walk! I was not so much excited when I looked forward to 12 weeks and read the following…If this is your first pregnancy, your belly will be starting to swell right around now (the paunching out happens earlier in subsequent pregnancies), this is crap!!! I was HUGE with Kaelen!!! Let’s just hope I am the exception to the rule!!!

We’ll keep you posted!

Labor Day 2009

What an awesome Labor Day weekend!!! The weather was just right on Saturday to take Little Miss out on the boat without frying her. We got an early start and made it to and from the sandbar in just enough time to miss the crazy croud and get home to relax a little and keep Patri as close to on schedule as possible. Sunday morning Mom took us out for Breakfast for my birthday! It's been a while since she's been out on the boat with us so it was a real treat. Though it was totally rough on the water it was a gorgeous morning so it was well worth it. Now...here's the stuff that melts my little heart. It's official!!! Kaelen Patri has her first boy crush. This is Nick, our friends son, he is most definitely the big brother type and adores Kaelen and boy oh boy does she loooove him. She has never taken to a boy like she does with Nicki and I know that she will forever adore him. He has so much fun with her and if he's anything like my cousin Raymond or Bobby he will always have a soft spot in my daughter little heart.
As much as it kills me, my Doodlebug is getting big and has a personality all her own!!!Monday we were supposed to go boating but we decided to make it an early day and get on the road...but not before Mommy got some quality play time in with Patri!!! I think Daddy was a little shocked to find out that this was all my doing :)

This is her best Kat Von D impression...Daddy, look at me....open this please
Cheers to another great weekend with my amazing little family! Kaelen blows my mind these days! She is so big, so talkative, so interested in everything. She is a pill, she throws tantrums, she says no and she throws things. She gives kisses and hugs your neck when she is tired or wants to hold you. She knows how to say Up or Down or Please and Done. Her laugh and her giggle are absolutely contagious. She has 4 molars and is finally fitting into her 12-18 months outfits. She's my little person and I couldn't be an luckier!!!

Monsoons & Motorbikes

So this weekend, again, was spent in AZ. Kyle and Kaelen have been out there since last weekend so really I couldn’t get there fast enough. My bosses were nice enough to let me leave the office at 3 on Friday so I was able to get there just in time to play for a minute, put on lotion and jammies and lay my baby girl down.
Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day in the desert. I know that summer time is meant to be dry and warm but the occasional monsoon is awesome! The desert smells pretty, the heat dies down just a bit and being outside is a blast. So we opened all the windows and doors at Nana’s got the girls down to their diapers and let them play in the rain.

Daddy, of course, saw the perfect opportunity to take his baby girl for her first 50 ride. I can’t say that I wasn’t a little nervous of Kyle biff’n it and Kaelen rolling across the pavement…but I trust Kyle (for the most part) and I know that he would never put her in a situation to be seriously hurt. Plus, Kaelen is a trooper and God knows she’d cry for a minute and then want to do it again. She had a blast with her Daddy!!! She was totally content riding with her feet up, leaning on his chest, wind in the hair, rain on the face, playing with the big kids.

Well the monsoon weather didn’t last long…by noon it had just about past and by 1 we were on the boat. It was exceptionally nice this time because it was all family. My brother and sister in law came out with their kiddos. Mom and Pop’s came out with some family friends and we even got some wakeboarding in.

Saturday night, Nana was oh so nice to keep on eye and an ear out for a sleep’n beauty so Kyle and I could go out and be twenty-something and have a little fun. After way too many drinks and not enough sleep we woke up and did it all again. Boarding first thing with the Thurman’s, nap, lunch and back to CA where we can be just us again.

As much as I hated not being with my family last week I know that Kaelen and Kyle really enjoy being at Nana’s. Kaelen gets to play with her cousins and Daddy everyday, all day, it was perfect. She’s growing so fast and learning so much. She says cheese and please and has a molar and a personality that won’t quit. She even throws stomp her feet, roll on the floor, cry out loud, throw herself back, tantrums. Of course, it doesn’t get her anywhere and Mommy and Daddy are doing our best to get her little attitude in check but I can’t help but fear the terrible 2’s that are just around the corner.

Our Beach Babe

Yesterday officially made Kaelen 15 months old! We spent the day with Becky in Carlsbad. The drive was poop but the day was great! Kaelen absolutely loves the water…which came as a bit of a surprise. Not so much because of the water but because of the waves. The first time we took her to the ocean she was NOT a fan!!! She did not like the noise, the sand or the fact that Daddy was running into the water that scared her so much. I must say that I love that this has changed, it’s a little scary cause she is fearless when it comes to water and she thinks she can just run right in, damn kids, but I can’t get enough of her smile or the giggles from the water running through her toes.

I, on the other hand, am not so much a fan of the beach…at least not any in CA. I hate sand being stuck everywhere, I hate saltwater, I don’t like waves and none of this seems to matter to Patri. Not that it should, but damn if I didn’t have sand everywhere from her wet little diaper butt sitting in the sand and then on me or wanting to eat it and then wipe it all over Mommy’s legs when it’s not yummy. Building sand castles with babies is super cute and something all parents enjoy doing with their babies, I’m sure, but the crap you have to clean after is poop.

Either way, yesterday was awesome, I would do it everyday if it’s what made my little girl happy. Daddy too, he couldn’t get enough of her in that icky salt water playing. They’re just too damn cute together and I couldn’t be happier that we all got to spend such a pretty day together!

Happy 15 month UnBirthday my Boogie! You’re getting too big, too fast, it’s fun and I totally love that you’re into everything and curious and oh my gosh SMART but slow down…I’m not ready for you to be a little big girl!
