1 Month 1 Week and 3 Days

Here we are at 6 weeks and I am ready for a nap! Although I do take one with her everyday I am in desperate need of a full nights sleep!! Kyle, lucky boy, sleeps through everything...including screaming babies. Not that he can do much seeing as how all she wants when she wakes up is to eat, I swear this girl would spend her entire day attached to mommies chesticles if I would let her.

She is growing and changing everyday and with as much time as I spend staring at her it is happening right before my eyes. And it's so exciting to watch and wonder what she will look like in a week. We have mini fashion shows and Momma's favorite...photo shoots!
So for our favorite part...SHOWERS! She loves them, we sing, we dance, she flys...plus it's way convenient just to bring her in with mommy. There have however been the occasional poopie on the walls...I die laughing, I am sure that to most that would be disgusting but I really find it hilarious and cute, her face...like what momma, Damn! if it isn't fun!

3 weeks in

So the first 3 weeks have been easier then expected. My little punkin sleeps and sleeps and sleeps some more. Of course she has turned me into a walking boob which is not so much fun, but...for as creeped out as I was about breat feeding I totally dig it now. It is one of the most amazing and emotional experiences, after birth of course. There is something so amazing about being able to hold your baby in your arms and giver her everything she needs. We took Kaelen to her first doctors appointment with much to talk about. She is in the top 4 percent for growth. Being born at 7 lbs, dropping to 6 lbs 11 oz and then back up to 8 lbs 9 oz and growing almost 2 inches in two weeks is pretty good! I guess I've been doing my job!

Kaelen is starting to focus on her toys hanging from her car seat and she lights up when she sees her Daddy's face. Even though I know she doesn't know it, or even have control over it yet...she smiles, she smiles in her sleep and it has got to be one of the most precious things ever. I like to think she is dreaming of me when this happens but...it could just be gas!
I can't believe that she is 3 weeks already!

She’s here she’s here!!!!

Kaelen Patri Jones is here! Finally! And I must say that she is already her mother’s daughter, not a fan of being late. Baby KPJ was born on her due date and this is how it all went down…

Going to the hospital was by far the most excited and anxious I have been in my whole 24 years. Not one ounce of me was scared I couldn’t wait to meet the most important person in my life. Every minute of labor was well worth the outcome!

Kyle and I went into the hospital at about 11p.m. on May 8th knowing that we would be coming home with the best present sweet baby Jesus could every give us.

We left our house when my contractions were 5-6 minutes apart (like we were told) thinking that this meant she was going to be here soon. Boy were we wrong! When we arrived I was dilated to 3 with contractions 5 minute apart I was admitted and sent on a walking frenzy.

At about 1 a.m. my contractions were about 3 ½ minutes apart. These were hardly painful but the nurse offered me a pain killer and being as anxious as I was I accepted. Much to my dismay this completely slowed things down…my contractions went to 7-10 minutes apart and I was still only at about a 3 ½ cm.

I declined any more pain meds and let my baby girl do what she needed to do from there out. Only the nurses thought it would be a good idea to start the Pitocin to get things back on track. So I did some more walking in hopes that I would be dilated to 10 sooner rather then later.

Being that I have a high tolerance for pain I decided to wait it out when my contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was dilated to 4 cm. Again I wasn’t the shot caller, Dr. Borsari came in to check me and decided she was going to get me to 5cm and break my water…this was by far the most painful part for me. My body went into convulsions which my nurse was not a fan of so she sent in the anesthesiologist to give me an Epidural.

Once the epidural kicked in I was progressing rather quickly and it seemed like minutes till I was pushing. The nurse thought it would be about an hour before I would be ready but I felt the pressure and knew my baby girl was ready.

I was so anxious to be done with it all and hold my baby but I couldn’t think about that right then, it felt like there was a bowling ball sitting on my rectum and I wanted it off. So I pushed a few good ones and in no time the doctor was back in my room looking at my babies head. 1 ½ pushes later and my girl was here. Finally, it only took 21 dang hours (Really it was only 4 hours off painful labor)

That was it, I was done, all that bitching while being pregnant had come to an end. My baby girl was here and that little cry had us hooked.

It's almost time!

Finally…This Friday I will be 38 weeks and little miss can come at any time! As much as I want her to be a May baby like her daddy I would be perfectly fine if she decided she was done hanging out in the belly. We are so anxious and excited! I’m not going to lie though; I am scared to death of labor! The delivery part doesn’t so much concern me…I figure if my little sister and millions of other women could do it, SO CAN I! Plus I have the best coach ever! Our birthing classes have done a great job of getting Kyle ready with what to expect and I couldn’t ask for a better person to have there to hold my hand through it all!

Kaelen Patri has got to be one of the most spoiled little girls ever! She already has more clothes then mommy which is totally not allowed but seeing that I have some LB’s to shed I’ll let her have it for now! We were lucky enough to get everything we needed at our showers! Our room is officially shared with all of her little things…all of which have their own place! With nesting in full force her crib is set up, her changing station organized with blankets, diapers, wipes and toys all in their baskets.

My drawers in the bathroom are now dedicated to baby soaps, washcloths and lotions; there is even a pink hooded towel on the back of our door. Her swing, bouncer and rocking chair are all ready to put our little one to sleep and her car seat will soon be put in the truck. Our bags are packed…we’re ready!

At least we think we are. I am so sure that every expectation will be thrown out the window as soon as she gets here. We talk about wanting her here everyday but I can't imagine what it will really feel like to hold my daughter and rock her to sleep and watch her daddy change her. I can't even explain how much I love this little girl already!

Unfortunately, my camera is being difficult so I can’t share my most recent pictures of the baby bump or our room, but I figured these will do for the time being! These are more from our amazing photographer friends that were taken about 5 weeks ago.

With any luck we won’t go past our due date and I will have new pictures of our baby girl to share in just a few weeks!

I'm busy growing a baby!

I know I have been MIA for a little minute but you'll have to excuse me. It doesn't help that it's busy season in my world...

32 weeks…Jeeez that’s so long. I have been pregnant since August. Do you know how long ago August was. Roughly 32 weeks I’m sure but still it’s been forever. I don’t want to grow a baby anymore, and I still have about 8 weeks left. Unless of course you ask any random person in public, according to them I’m ready to pop. Seriously I don’t care if you’ve done it before or not, you should never make assumptions on how far along a pregnant person is. As if we don’t feel like a house already, I pretty much get told that I look like I'm about to explode I'm so huge and I still have 2 months to go. Believe me I don’t need any help realizing how big I’ve gotten. I am well aware I have a 20 lb. ball on my lap. Whoever said this pregnancy thing was amazing and beautiful is a loony.

Now that I’ve gotten my bitter, fat, pregnant person taken care of let’s look at the lighter side of growing a baby.

Kyle and I are so excited. We want to meet her so badly, these next weeks couldn’t go fast enough if he was Doc Brown and we owned the DeLorean. My little Daddy to be and I are going through all the emotions, we're excited and nervous and he’ll never say the word but I think he’s a little scared too, thankfully! I am so lucky to have him and all of his worries and big plans for our daughter. I just want her here, I can’t wait to be a mom and to have our family. Cheesy as it is…this is exactly what I’ve always wanted. Maybe things didn’t go exactly according to my plan but I think this might just be better!

On the other hand, we still have to have both of our baby showers and get the room ready for her. I can't wait to get her stuff all put together. I love presents even if they're not really for me. Kaelen needs put a few more pounds on so we’ll all just have to wait.

8 more weeks and I’ll be done growing a baby and you will all get to meet the cutest little girl there ever was, unless of course you were around in September of 1983.
